Who: Deepika Padukone
Styled by: Shaleena Nathani
Why: Leave it to Bollywood sensation Deepika Padukone to bring the dress drama to any red carpet. Turning heads wherever she goes, the Indian actress made quite the entrance at this year’s event. The stunner wore a voluminous black and cream gown by Dundas on May 16. The dramatic dress came with a bold-shoulder and a giant black bow across the front. The actress exuded drama with strappy black Aquazzura heels, dark reverse winged eyeliner, and tied her hair in a neat ponytail.
As if that wasn’t eye-catching enough, the following day, the 33-year-old star owned the carpet in a snazzy lime green ruffled gown from Giambattista Valli at the Pain and Glory screening. Deepika looked incredible in this structural and sensual creation featuring an asymmetric skirt, layer upon layer of tulle, bow detailing on the collar, cascading ruffle sleeves, and a glamorous train from the Spring/Summer ‘19 couture collection. Standing tall in a pair of neutral Stuart Weitzman heels, Deepika was in her element as she worked her charm for the cameras. The dazzling Lorraine Schwartz jewels prove the actress is regal, both on- and off-screen.
Beauty Look: Most celebs at Cannes kept their eyes a muted colour, which is why Deepika’s smokey wing choice – the perfect complement to her flawless complexion, nude lip colour, and top-knot hairdo with Emily London headdress – was such a standout. Pic: IANS/PTI
