Trailer Watch: “Newton”

Rajkummar Rao will be seen in a black comedy film “Newton”, written and directed by Amit V Masurkar, produced by Drishyam Films.

“Newton” is set in a naxal controlled town in the jungles of Chhattisgarh. The story revolves around a government clerk who manages to conduct fair voting on an election day despite the fear of guerrilla attacks by communists. The film was premiered at the 67th Berlin Film Festival, where it was appreciated by the audience and won the CICAE Art Cinema Award. “Newton” made its Asia premier at the 41st Hong Kong Film Festival 2017 and won jury prize for best film. The North American premier of the film was held at the 15th Tribeca Film Festival 2017 in the International Narrative Competition section.

The trailer of the international award winning film has been released and Rajkummar took to Twitter to share the trailer with a caption, “This Independence day, let's meet #Newton. हम बदलेंगे तो देश बदलेगा। Happy Independence Day. @aanandlrai @ManMundra @ErosNow @Amit_Masurkar”.

“Newton” is slated to release on 22nd September 2017.
