Top three ways to reduce body heat

During the summer months, one of the common problems faced by people is body heat. Body heat also referred to as heat stress, is a condition in which your body tends to absorb too much heat and as a result, you are prone to various illnesses. Some common health issues during summer are: heatstroke, sunburn, dehydration, heat rash, urinary tract infection, fatigue, ulcers and foot infection. Some of the root causes of body heat are intake of spicy food, spending long hours in the sun, caffeinated beverages, rigorous workout, and wearing tightly fitted clothes.

There are various natural remedies to reduce body heat this summer. In this article, we present top three remedies.

1.    Hydrate yourself with lot of fluids- One of the first steps to take in order to reduce body heat is keeping yourself well hydrated by taking lot of fluids. In summer, you must drink at least 2 litres of water every day. Apart from drinking water, you should also consume other healthy fluids like coconut water, butter milk, watermelon juice, cranberry juice, lemon juice etc.

2.    Wear comfortable clothes- One effective remedy to combat body heat is to opt for comfortable clothes. While picking your dress for the day, go for light colours as they do not absorb heat. And also avoid silk or linen fabric as they cause discomfort. Do not forget to carry a scarf, hat or an umbrella when you’re stepping out.

3.    Incorporate Vitamin C rich foods in your diet- Eating foods that are high in Vitamin C are extremely beneficial for your health especially during summer. Some vegetables and fruits loaded with Vitamin C are: Kiwifruit, broccoli, berries, orange, lemons, and capsicum.
