This spring, Iggy Azalea was set to headline her first arena tour “Great Escape Tour” (for 2014’s ‘The
New Classic’) with support from Tinashe and Nick Jonas
The tour had been slated to kick off Sept. 18 in San Diego. The tour's cancellation comes just months
after the rapper rescheduled the dates for the trek back in March "due to production delays" losing its
openers Nick Jonas and Tinashe in the process.
At the time she explained why she wanted to bump the original slate of tour dates. "It is bumped back
because I am a psychopath. It is my first arena tour, so it's a big undertaking and I'm doing a lot of the
creative direction, which I do for everything," she told 97.1 AMP Radio back in March. "It's tough when
it's your first time working on an arena situation."
Ticket holders to the concert were sent the following email on Friday: "The Iggy Azalea Great Escape
Tour scheduled for this fall has been cancelled and refunds are available at point of purchase. There will
be a new tour planned around Iggy's new record to be released in 2016 and we apologize for any
The Grammy-nominated pop-rapper confirmed the cancellation in a tweet later Friday, “As u may know,
the tour is cancelled. I'm so sad and sorry to let my fans down...we'll be back out on the road when the
next album is done.”
