Indian women cricketer, Smriti Mandhana was honoured with the prestigious Arjuna Award by the Union Sports and Youth Affairs Minister, Kiren Rijeju in Delhi.
In the year 2018, Smriti earned recognition as the Best Women's International cricketer by the Board of Control for Cricket in India. In the same year, she was bestowed with the Rachael Heyhoe-Flint Award for the category of Best Female Cricketer of the year. Opener Smriti will be playing for Women's T20 World Cup in 2020. She is on the top among the brilliant performers in T20's and ODI's.
Smriti took to her instagram account and shared a picture of herself receiving the award from the sports minister, Kiren Rijeju. She captioned it, “It was such an honour to receive the Arjuna Award from the sports minister @kiren.rijiju here at Delhi. Really grateful to all those who supported me throughout my journey. And no better time to receive it just 2 days before my birthday!"
