Semiya (Vermicelli) Halwa

Ingredients                   Qty 

Semiya (vermicelli)      1 cup 

Jaggery                         1 cup 

Cashew nuts                  6-7 

Ghee                              2 tsp 

Elaichi Powder           1 pinch 

Water                            2 cups


 •Take a frying pan, add 2 tsp ghee and fry cashew nuts until they turn golden brown. Keep these aside. 

 •Now in the same frying pan, fry 1 cup semiya (vermicelli) until it turns golden brown.  Now keep this fried semiya aside. 
  (note: Do not fry semiya on hot flame, as it will get burnt)

•To the frying pan, add 2 cups water and once the water starts boiling, add fried semiya. Keep stirring. Once it starts cooking, add 1 cup jaggery. Mix well. Finally add elaichi powder and stir it for a couple of minutes.

 •Once it is fully cooked, off the flame and transfer it to serving bowls. 

 •Before serving garnish with fried cashew nuts.
