Saif Ali Khan is the first Bollywood star to be associated with an American-based on-demand streaming website Netflix. The actor has been roped in to play the role of a police officer in a web series “Sacred Games”, co-produced by Phantom Films and Netflix.
The upcoming web series is based on a novel written by Vikram Chandra. The series is set in Mumbai and will revolve around the city’s sophisticated web of corruption, crime, politics and espionage that lie beneath India’s economic renaissance. Saif Ali Khan will be seen playing the role of Sartaj Singh.
In an Interview, Saif said, “Content In the digital space is taking over the existing dynamics at a rapid pace - the crown in the digital empire lies with Netflix, and it's extremely satisfying to partner and participate in the first original series from India to be showcased on Netflix”.
Saif Ali Khan will also be seen in “Kaalakaandi”, which is slated to release on 8th September 2017 and Raja Krishna Menon’s “chef”, which is slated to release on 6th October 2017.
