It's been almost five years since director Rupert Sanders issued a publicly apology to his wife and children after he was caught cheating with his "Snow White and the Huntsman" star Kristen Stewart. "I love them with all my heart," he said (via a publicist). "I am praying that we can get through this together."
The 46-year-old director was spotted kissing Kristen in July 2012, when he was still married to former wife Liberty Ross and while she was dating Robert Pattinson.
Ross responded by tweeting a simple, “Wow.” She also posted a photo of Snow White on her Instagram account accompanied by the caption, “Not so pretty or so pure after all.”
Ross subsequently filed for divorce from Sanders in January 2013.
Together they have two children, daughter Skyla and son Tennyson.
Stewart also apologized to Pattinson, whom she'd been dating for three years. "I'm deeply sorry for the hurt and embarrassment I've caused to those close to me and everyone this has affected. This momentary indiscretion has jeopardized the most important thing in my life, the person I love and respect the most, Rob," the actress said. "I love him. I love him. I'm so sorry."
Sanders who is directing ‘Ghost in the Shell’, while promoting the movie told U.K.'s ‘Metro,’ "You never know what's coming in life. Around every corner there's something unexpected, and that's life. You just have to brush yourself off and continue moving forward the best you can. Everyone makes mistakes. I am bound to make more mistakes, and I wouldn't expect my life to be exciting if I didn't," he said. "If you took people off the table for a momentary lapse," he said, "there would be no one making art."
