The Royal’s Mental Health Campaign Has Released Series Of Short Films

Prince Williams, Kate Middleton and Prince Harry as part of ‘Heads Together’, are launching a film series which encourages people to talk about their mental health. This Royal campaign fights to reduce mental health conditions, supports psychologically unwell young people, veterans and homeless. 

The ‘Heads Together’ initiative was launched in 2016 and according to Epoch Times the Royals have collaborated with eight mental health charities that have “decades of experience in tackling stigma, raising awareness, and providing vital help for people with mental health challenges.” Charitable programs range from pioneering mental health care practices, to offering counseling services and offering helplines, promoting awareness and cultural change.

The series of short films were launched on April 6th 2017 and each short film focuses on various issues such as substance abuse, grief and depression, and shows conversations between a person suffering from mental illness and a loved one. One clip features model Adwoa Aboah and her mother discussing about her suicide attempt and how she has coped with depression and bipolar disorder, the second video features former soccer player Rio Ferdinand talks to his business partner how he coped with the grief after his wife passed away. The third video features actress Ruby Wax and her husband talking about struggling with mental illness and what others can do to help. There are currently 12 short films available on the organizations youtube page.
