Roger Federer Ends Five-Match Losing Streak Against Rafael Nadal

Roger Federer rated his 6-3, 5-7, 6-3 win over Rafael Nadal as the best of his Swiss Indoors career after claiming a seventh title at his home event on Sunday.
The top-seeded Federer ended a five-match losing streak against Nadal, including the last time they played for a title in May 2013.
“It was a very special day,” said Federer, who won his hometown event for the seventh time. “Probably it was my best victory here in Basel.”
With the match finely poised in the deciding set, Federer hit a series of ground strokes for winners and broke Nadal’s serve for a 5-3 lead.
Federer and Nadal last met in the Australian Open semi-finals nearly two years ago and played their last final in Rome in 2013.

Sunday's win was Federer's 88th career title while taking his season record to 58-9.

Both men will head to France for next week's Paris Masters before the ATP World Tour Finals in London.
