We will soon see one of Bollywood’s leading actors, Ranveer Singh, alongside Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh’s daughter, Sara Ali Khan, in her second flick, Simmba. The duo who has kicked off the shooting for the Rohit Shetty cop caper are set to hit the audience with some ‘90’s nostalgia. They will be remaking the smash hit song, ‘Ladka Aankh Maare’, which originally starred Arshad Warsi and Simran, from the movie Tere Mere Sapne (1996), which was directed by Jay Augustine. Sung by Kumar Sanu and Kavita Krishnamurthy, the song will take listeners straight back to retro-land. A source has revealed, “The song has been recreated by Tanishk Bagchi who has been working on the new version since the past few months. It has new beats to appeal to the Gen X but the fun element is intact, which was Rohit’s brief.” Tere Mere Sapne also starred Chandrachur Singh and Priya Gill as the second lead couple in the movie.
Rumours say that Ganesh Acharya will be choreographing the song, and Tanishk has been recruited to compose the title track of Simmba. This will be Sara Ali Khan’s second movie, with her first film Kedarnath opposite Sushant Singh Rajput coming out first in November, and Simmba coming out in December. The shooting for Simmba is commencing in Hyderabad, with fans eagerly awaiting the Rohit Shetty directorial.
