Queen Elizabeth II Meets The Captains of the World Cup Teams

Virat Kohli who is all set to lead India for the first time in a World Cup, met Britain’s Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Harry along with the other captains in the Buckingham Palace on Wednesday. The World Cup is all set to begin on Thursday with hosts, England playing against South Africa at the Kennington Oval.

England who had a first round exit in the last World Cup, have improved by leaps and bounds. Today, they are the top ranked ODI team and have the best batting line up that have recorded the highest ODI total twice, which currently stands at 481/6.

Speaking about the event, captain Morgan said that winning a World Cup would be the best thing as England is known to be the birthplace of cricket. "It would mean a huge amount. The World Cup alone raises the profile of the game and is a platform for every young kid in this country to have a hero or have the inspiration to pick up a ball or a bat," Morgan told the press on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, India are all set to play South Africa on the 5th of June and the men in blue are a much more confident lot after their thumping win against Bangladesh in their practice match. Our team has the world’s best batsman and bowler in the form of Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah, respectively. We also have KL Rahul, who has finally found his groove at No.4 and the biggest asset, MS Dhoni who is back in form. This is India’s best team so far and Virat Kohli’s men have a great chance of winning the World Cup for the third time after 1983 and 2011.
