Mustique is not a very well-known destination, but it’s definitely one of the hottest spots on the royal vacation list. The private island is located in the Caribbean, and is known for its magnificent white sand beaches such as Macaroni Beach, Pasture Bay Beach, and Endeavour Bay Beach. This island is a welcome relief from the ever-clicking paps, and it’s also the location of some of the most luxurious and lavish vacation-parties that Princess Margaret would host over the span of 30 years!
The island of Mustique is probably the ultimate getaway, in that it defines a royal vacation like no other destination possibly can. The entire island can be rented for an absurd amount of money, private jets drop the royal vacationers off, the super-luxe villas all over the island are little bits of palaces. And it supports a host of activities that scream ‘royal’, including tennis, polo, horseback riding, sailing, and scuba diving!
Tidbit: The owner of the island, Colin Tennant, gifted Princess Margaret a plot of land on the island as her wedding gift, on which she built a jaw-droppingly splendid villa called Les Jolies Eaux. That was the beginning of the Royal Family’s bond with this tiny bit of paradise!
