Actress-singer Mandy Moore has revealed that she thinks getting married to Ryan Adams was not a smart decision. She gave an interview to Glamour in which she opened up about her first marriage, which happened in March 2009, ending in January 2015 when the two musicians separated, with the divorce being finalized in 2016. “I didn’t choose the right person,” Mandy explained.
"I don't feel guilty for (the divorce). I don't fault myself for it. When people said, ‘I'm sorry,' I was like, ‘No. Sorry would have been had I stayed in a very unhealthy situation'. I didn't. I found my way out. And when I did, things opened back up again."
Moore, who currently stars in the hit series This is Us as Rebecca Pearson, says that she felt “spiritually and fundamentally stuck” when she was married to Adams, which in turn had a very negative impact on her career as well as her social life. Although the A Walk to Remember star is now engaged to Dawes frontman Taylor Goldsmith and is to get married to him later this same year, her ex Adams took to his Twitter account to respond to his former wife’s comments, writing,: "She didn't like the Melvins or BladeRunner. Doomed from the start… If only I could remember the start lol."
