Damaging your wedding dress, a vendor getting lost on the way to the venue, or weather that forces an outdoor ceremony or reception in. But 2020 delivered something that even the most seasoned of wedding pros couldn’t have expected: coronavirus. While last year was all about intimate and small weddings on Zoom, this year it’s about a micro wedding, a small ceremony with 50 guests or fewer, or minimony — a smaller event with 10 guests: parents, siblings, an officiant standing at a distance. Both have all the components of a normal wedding the main ceremony, mehendi, sangeet, reception, delicious food —shrunk to pandemic proportions. But according to industry experts, although the business may have shrunk in size, it has not lost its sheen.
