KL Rahul Is Confident Of India Denying England A Semi-Final Birth

Post the enormous win over West Indies, opener KL Rahulis confident of India winning the match against England on Sunday. England are in a dangerous position as they need to win their remaining two matches to book a spot in the semi-finals but Rahul insisted that India can deny the hosts the chance to enter the top four.

He said, “If we play the best cricket, and if we play the kind of cricket that we’ve been playing in the last four or five games, we’ll end up most probably on the winning side. Individually and as a team, we’re focused on getting our plans right, executing our skills right and again it’s a big game against England. So hopefully the confidence and the momentum that we have we can carry that to Birmingham and it will be great to get more wins.”

Team India is riding on a high as they are the only team to remain unbeaten in a tournament. With another victory, the men in blue will seal their place in the semi-finals. Though the Indian top order is in great form, it is the middle order that is of concern. But the legendary MS Dhoni has proved that no matter how late it is, a blitz from him can turn the match upside down. The Indian bowlers have still not failed, and continue to be one of the best bowling units in the tournament.

The match against England is India’s only hurdle, post that it should be a comfortable victory for them over Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. With this, Virat Kohli might script history as his team will remain unbeaten until the semi-finals of the ICC cricket world cup.
