Keeping your liver in good condition 

One of the most essential organs in your body is liver. It is mainly responsible for elimination of waste from your system. Keeping your liver in good shape is one of the things you must do, in order to make sure you’re in good health.  Unfortunately with a number of unhealthy factors like: environmental pollution, stress, poor eating habits, alcohol, smoking and over dose of caffeine is taking a toll on your liver. 

If you or your near and dear ones are suffering from any of the below mentioned symptoms, then it is time to get your liver checked and if needed do a detox  by changing your lifestyle. 

Some signs you need to detox your liver: 
•    Anxiety 
•    Excessive sweating
•    High blood pressure
•    Menstrual mood swings
•    Weight gain
•    Yellow coloured skin/ eyes 
•    Bloating
•    Heartburn 
•    Dark urine 

One of the very first steps, you should take in order to ensure your liver is in good condition is to change your eating habits. It is very essential to consume a diet rich in all the vital nutrients and minerals. 

Reduce the intake of sodium in your diet: Salt in your diet must be reduced or if possible, it is good to completely avoid.  Due to presence of salt, your body will retain liquids. Retention of liquids causes swelling and it takes a toll on your liver. 

Foods that contain sodium: soups, canned vegetables, bacon, sausages, teriyaki sauces, and packaged snacks like chips. 
Along with reducing the intake of food high in sodium, you must stay away from alcohol and smoking. 

Foods to eat for a healthy liver function: 
Grapefruits, cranberries, blueberries, beetroot juice, grapes, fatty fish, nuts, oatmeal, green tea, banana, avocado, carrots, figs, brown rice etc.
