This year, the Animal Ball was hosted by Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall at The Royal Residence in London on June 19th. This annual fundraiser is an initiative by the Elephant Family, an organization that aims to protect Asian elephants and their natural habitat.

This year, the annual charity ball saw 24 iconic fashion houses and labels like Prada, Chloé, Missoni, Kenzo among others. Representing India were ace designers Sabyasachi Mukherjee, Anita Dongre and Gaurav Gupta. They designed animal themed masks that were worn by guests during the masquerade.

The prince and the duchess chose Sabyasachi’s studded mask of the Royal Bengal Tiger that also happens to be the designer’s logo.

Anita Dongre paid tribute to the majestic elephant, that is also the emblem of her brand and featured motifs that are inspired by her bridal lehengas.

Meanwhile, Gaurav Gupta created a dramatic Humming Bird headpiece, complete with striking birds and feathers.

The proceeds from the ball will go to the Elephant Family and their efforts to protect wild animals and their natural habitats.
