India’s First Underwater Film- ‘The Ghazi Attack’

Ever since Karan Johar revealed the first look of the most awaited movie of the year ‘The Ghazi Attack’ starring Rana Daggubati and other prominent actors, fans have been waiting to see how the movie has been directed. This the naval war between Indo-Pakistan in 1971 is one war that not many of us are aware of. . ‘The Ghazi Attack’ is directed by new comer Sankalp Reddy and it is released in three languages Hindi, Telugu and Tamil. The film focuses on the mysterious sinking of PSN Ghazi during the 1971 war. One of the highlights of the movie apart from Rana’s acting was that Amitabh Bachchan lent his voice to the opening narration. Along with Rana the movie also has renowned actors such as the late Om Puri, Taapsee Pannu, Kay Kay Menon and Atul kulkarni.

The director Sandeep Reddy has done a marvelous job on making the film with the backdrop of underwater, which is a rare feat for the Indian cinema. From the captain of the submarine to the sonar boy, every character in the film has given their heart and soul to make the film a worthwhile watch. All the artists who worked in the movie are put in the limelight with the sole purpose of making it a realistic presentation of how the naval hierarchy works. One of the points that the director put across through the film is that whether the war is big or small, through teamwork could the enemy can be defeated.

The film is doing terrificly well at the box office. As far as the war drama genre is concerned this movie is expected to be a milestone in the Indian cinema. Audiences were so impressed with the film that they spread positive word across social media right after the premier show.
On the whole ‘Ghazi’ has become one of a kind movie experience.
