Gryphon Audio Designs has recently launched a new state-of-the-art audio player, Ethos CD Player. The high-end Danish electronics company that’s well known for its goal of presenting a pure unembellished sound takes up the challenge of creating the definitive combination of CD transport and digital-to-analogue converter.
Sold with the top price tag of $39,000 and built with the utmost precision, Ethos CD Player proves that the compact disc is not dead yet.
Though the new Ethos player is created with one thing in mind, compact discs, it handles both the external playback sources up to 32-bit / 384 kHz PCM, standard 16-bit / 44.1 kHz ‘Redbook’ CD and even DSD512.
The lid effectively seals the top-loading mechanism, which reminds of the types of vinyl of the past. The triangular-shaped cd player also comes with a glass touchscreen control panel with a fully decoupled all-metal transport body outfitted with independently adjustable Gryphon Atlas spikes isolation footers. It also provides plenty of functionality, including OCD listeners for tailoring the sound to the nth degree through roll-off filters. Web: luxatic.com.
