Patrani Machhi is a delicious Parsi dish made by steaming the Pomfret fillet in banana leaves. This healthy and easy to prepared steamed fish is a signature dish served at Parsi wedding dinners and celebratory occasions. Patrani Machhi is served with Dhansak and Parsi brown rice. Roasted cumin powder
1. Make paste from the ginger and garlic and marinate the pomfret in the paste, lemon juice and salt. Set aside for 15 minutes.
2. Make a paste from the mint and coriander leaves. To this, add the roasted cumin powder. Rub the mixture on the marinated pomfret fillets.
3. Wrap the fillet in banana leaves and steam for 20 minutes.
4. Unwrap the leaves and serve hot.
