Who: Elle Fanning
Styled by: Samantha McMillen
Why: Elle Fanning’s looks have officially stopped hearts at Cannes this year. Event after event, premiere after premiere, Elle and her stylist have put together some flawless looks. Take the hot-pink Vivienne Westwood custom-made ballgown she wore to a Chopard dinner. At the opening ceremony, she wore this silky Gucci gown with a long peach cape and a large flower accent. Then she pulled out the most delightful custom Dior outfit for another red carpet appearance. Oozing Grace Kelly-esque glamour, Elle wore the 1950s-inspired Dior haute couture tulle skirt with a sheer shirt and a raffia hat at the Once Upon a Time In Hollywood screening.
On the second day of the festival, the youngest juror at Cannes history demonstrated that the red carpet isn’t immune to the floral trend we’ve been seeing everywhere on the streets. The American actress wears a printed gown by Valentino haute couture that elevates the trend for a red-carpet moment. Leaving little to the imagination, the 21-year-old actress opted for a show-stopping, botanical gown at the Les Miserables premiere that featured a plunging velour bodice. The super-daring ensemble then flared out into a voluminous floral skirt that swept the red carpet as she posed for the cameras. She also garnered much attention for her Chopard jewels and Sophia Webster shoes. Suffice it to say that we love Fanning’s Valentino creation.
Beauty Look: While Anna Wintour would be proud of Fanning’s statement-making dresses, we’re all about her rosy cheeks, bold crimson lips, and milkmaid braid with tiny flowers woven into it. And those eyes? Dusted with glitter, just like the makeup gods intended.
