FDCI x Lakme Fashion Week : Kiara Advani and Kartik Aryan walk the Ramp for Manish Malhotra’s latest

All the internet can talk about right now is the FDCI x Lakme Fashion Week. And the phygital show got even bigger when ace-designer Manish Malhotra created his magic. The designer showcased his latest couture collection ‘Nooraniyat' at the fashion week, where Bollywood stars Kiara Advani and Kartik Aryan walked the ramp as the showstoppers for the industry veteran.

Kiara looked gorgeous in a shimmering silver gown with cut outs and a silver sheer. The long shoulder trail added to the bling. Kartik opted for a black, bandhgala jacket teamed up with an asymmetric ink kurta and slim pants.

The designer’s bridal wear collected Nooraniyat made it to new recently when actor Sara Ali Khan shot a campaign with the brand.  The line features a whole range of metallic, blue and black with intricate embroidery. Sumptuous sorbet and blush shades, including vibrant pink with lilac, grey-blue and royal beige-gold too were seen in the collection. In conversation with IANSlife Manish said that the primary line of inspiration for the collection is from the old world repertoire--the embroidery in particular.

"Everyone knows my fondness for the deft embroidery, the intricate and ornate designs. However, I've given my own take to the collection where it is influenced by contemporary times. I wanted to bring together a new composition that is balanced in its heterogeneous elements. Where everything exists. The collection is developed on the ethos of tradition but influenced by the new world's present. A collection that sits firmly with the pandemic-induced preferences but also relatable to our aesthetics and our loyalists," he added.

Nooraniyat consists of pure two-toned silks and Dupion silks, gold silks, sheer organzas, lush crepes and tissue fabrics. While the women’s wear saw silver and gold gowns, backless and button less cholis, mini capes with gowns, floor-kissing ornate robes, kurtas and kurtis with cropped, flowing pants; Men’s wear featured jackets, shilver shawl collars, kurtas, sherwanis and a lot more.  –Source: IANS life
