The 92nd Academy Awards is easily one of the biggest nights in the film fraternity across the globe, which means two major things: hottest fashion moments and can’t-miss beauty looks. While it celebrates the best of the best in movies, the short walk down the red carpet is paved with iconic beauty moments that live on for decades to come. From Lucy Boynton’s sexy bob and Saoirse Ronan’s romantic look to Janelle Monáe glowing skin and classic red lips, the best beauty looks are far from boring. Read ahead to see all the best of the best.
Lucy Boynton’s perfect undone hair was the real star of the show. Her hairstylist, Jenny Cho, created loose, S-shaped waves with the help of a straightener on freshly washed hair. With Coco Chanel being the inspiration — French-chic-meets young Hollywood — Jenny then pumped Hair Ritual by Sisley Precious Hair Care Oil through Lucy’s hair, which loosened the waves. What made the hair stand out, even more, was the actress’s accessory pearls glued on her hairline that complemented the statement-making style with extralong lashes and a bold red lip.
Makeup artist Kara Yoshimoto Bua gave Saoirse Ronan a look rooted in shades of blues and champagne hues, which although may sound intimidating, is incredibly easy to apply. The secret? Keep all the shades slightly shimmery. For a romantic look, Kara dusted on a Papier Matifiant de Chanel and Les Beiges Healthy Glow Sheer Powder in 20 to set the complexion. She used Le Blanc Rosy Light Drops to highlight her apples of cheeks, brow bones, shoulders, and collarbones. What made her win the Oscars red carpet was her perfect abbreviated fringe! Hairstylist Adir Abergel took her blonde hair to a midi updo and punctuated it with a brand-new set of baby bangs, romantic flyaway strands, and a fancy,
jewel-encrusted bug barrette.
Time to shine
Songstress Janelle Monáe’s makeup artist, Jessica Smalls, kept things simple by applying red lipstick and voluminous, long lashes, allowing her signature glowing skin to receive all of the attention it deserves. Jessica has treated Janelle with the Dermaflash Luxe, to moisturise the skin, to match her hooded silver gown and applied 111 Skin’s Celestial Black Diamond Emulsion before any makeup. It provided immediate results to tighten, brighten, and freshen the skin, which made it perfect right before the big event. Oh, and the hair? Nikki Nelms smoothed it down using GHD tools and Maui Moisture before pulling up the hood.
