Delicious pesto veggie pizza

Be it a birthday party, a casual dinner date or a get together with friends; pizza is one dish that we all love to eat. Although most of us order pizza from a nearby joint, making it from scratch at home tastes even better.  

We have a simple and easy recipe to make pizza at home.

For the pizza base

Active dry yeast
Warm water
White sugar
Bread flour
Olive oil

For the sauce

Fresh basil leaves
Pine nuts
Grated parmesan
Olive oil

For the pizza toppings

Chopped Mushrooms
sun dried tomatoes
mozzarella cheese


1 packet (0.25 ounces)

Instructions :

1. Make the pizza base - Preheat the oven to 230 °C. In a large mixing bowl, take warm water and dissolve sugar and dry yeast. Allow it to rest for about 10 - 15 minutes.

2.  Now mix flour, salt and olive oil in the above mixture. Beat thoroughly until it becomes smooth. Allow this mixture to rest for about 5 -10 minutes.

3.  Turn the dough out onto a surface with some dough, Roll it into a round shape. Keep this aside.

4. Prepare the sauce - To make the pesto sauce, in a food processor, combine basil leaves, pine nuts, garlic, parmesan cheese and olive oil. Once it becomes a smooth paste, add pepper and salt.

5.  Now spread the pizza dough evenly across the pizza tray. Bake the pizza dough in the oven for 10 minutes at 218°C.

6.  After 10 mins, remove the pizza base from the oven and spread the pesto sauce. For the toppings, add chopped mushrooms, onions, sun dried tomatoes and garlic. Spread an even layer of mozzarella cheese on the pizza.  

7.  Bake the pizza in the oven for 15 minutes at 218°C. It's ready to serve.
