With the rapid surge in Covid cases in India and the collapsing of its medical facilities, several countries like UK, US, Germany and Saudi Arabia have come forward to help. Aid in the form of medical supplies like oxygen, ventilators, medicines and hospital beds are being given to help fight the battle of the second wave of coronavirus. Amidst this, UAE showed solidarity towards India by lighting up the tallest and most iconic building in the world, Burj Khalifa, in the tri-colours of the Indian flag. It also flashed the message “Stay Strong India”.
On April 25, The Embassy of India in the UEA posted the video of the lit Burj Khalifa on Twitter stating: “As India battles the gruesome war against Covid-19 , its friends UAE sends its best wishes. Burj Khalifa in Dubai lights up to showcase its support.” To this, the Ambassador of India to the UAE, Pavan Kapoor said, “India appreciates the UAE’s strong support to its close friend in difficult times.”
The Burj Khalifa often lights up to express support or to mark major events across the world. In these trying times, it is overwhelming to see the support that various nations are providing for our country.
