After quite a nerve-wrecking match between England and New Zealand, team England emerged as the winners of the highly anticipated World Cup 2019. They have finally registered their first victory and celebrities congratulated both the teams.
For the first time ever in the history of Cricket, the world cup finals saw what is known to be an unusual circumstance. This year, both the teams delivered a phenomenal performance, that the winner could not be decided in the 100 overs, and it finally came down to a super over. This year's world cup finals between England and New Zealand will be remembered for the most epic match in the white-ball cricket to be played ever.
Towards the end of the 50-over match, both the team scores were tied on 241. But, the teams continued to play a Super Over. However, even after playing the extra overs, both the teams scored equal. Now the deciding factor for declaring the winners rested upon the highest number of boundaries. Since, team England scored 26 boundaries, which is nine more than their opponents. The host team was crowned as the winners.
Soon after this terrific match, Bollywood celebrities took to twitter and congratulated both the teams for playing a brilliant match. Karan Johar took to his twitter account and wrote, "England had a better kundli! NZ had the better game!!! #NZLvENG". Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap and Surveen Chawla also shared their views on the World Cup Final match. Anurag wrote, "England is a winner because of stupid fuckin rules.. New Zealand is a true winner". Surveen said, "Oh couldnt agree more!!Seriously man....NZ all the way for me ...They so deserved it...The most ridiculous rules..England only taking the cup,NZ ur the real winners for me...Though what a befitting final.#WC2019".
Anupam Kher took to his instagram account and shared a video of team England holding the cup. He wrote, "CRICKET IS THE WINNER in this #WorldCupFinal2019. What an unbelievable match!!! Congratulations England. Amazing Victory!! And #NewZealand is a team of Heroes. Jai Ho!! #HappyToBeThere".
Sidharth Malhotra tweeted, "What an epic final! Amazing cricket from both sides, intense crazy,mad ,emotional what a high!". Vivek Anand Oberoi's tweet said, "The country where cricket was born 6/700 years ago, has finally won the #WorldCup for the very first time! Congrats #eng What a historic match! Truly the great sport of #cricket won today! #WC19 #WCFINAL #ENGvNZ".
