Actor Bill Murray will appear in the upcoming instalment of the ‘Ghostbusters’ franchise, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed.
Murray has agreed to be part of the film, which stars Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon, and Leslie Jones. He'll be joining fellow original ‘Ghostbuster’ Stantz (Dan Aykroyd), who was earlier confirmed to be making an appearance in the movie.
In 2009, Murray joined Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson and the late Harold Ramis to voice their iconic characters for a ‘Ghostbusters’ video game, but he long dismissed the idea of being in a third ‘Ghostbusters’ — during an appearance on ‘The Late Show’ with David Letterman in 2011, Murray called the thought of him returning "crazy talk."
The upcoming ‘Ghostbusters’ hits theaters July 22, 2016.
