Bollywood actor and former model Arjun Rampal had gotten married to model and producer Mehr Jessia back in 1998, before fame hit. But after 20 years of wedded bliss, the couple has announced that they have mutually decided to separate. Although the news shocked fans and admirers of the duo, the couple made this decision mutually, stating that there is no bad blood.
The two shared a joint statement to Bombay Times which says,
“After a 20-year-long beautiful journey filled with love and beautiful memories, we would like to share, that all journeys have different paths. We feel that it is time for us to move on to different destinations henceforth.
We have always been solid when it has come to us, we will continue to be solid for each other and our loved ones, as we embark upon a new journey.
Both of us being extremely private people feel strange to be making this statement, but such are the circumstances of our lives. Where the truth can get distorted and lost.
We are a family, our love for each other is forever intact and we shall always be there for one another and most importantly, for our children Mahikaa and Myra. We would, therefore, appreciate our privacy through this time. Thank all for their support. Relationships can end, but love lives on. We won’t be commenting on this any further.”
The former couple has two daughters, 16-year-old Mahikaa and 13-year-old Myra, and went on to say that they will always be there for their children. This is not the first time Arjun, 45, and Mehr, 47, have been plagued with the subject of divorce. Years ago, rumours surfaced that the two were about to call it quits but Arjun took to twitter to make things clear and called it a false alarm. Rampal is currently busy working on his film Paltan, directed by J.P. Dutta, which is based on the 1962 India-China war, commonly known as the Indo-Sino war.
