After Sara Ali Khan, next in line to make their debut in Bollywood amongst the next generation of Khans is Junaid, son of Aamir Khan. Following his father’s footsteps, Junaid, son of Aamir and his first wife Reena Dutta, will be appearing in a Yash Raj Films venture that willbe directed by Siddharth Malhotra. The debutant’s sister Ira took to social media to announce the same. She shared a picture of herself kneeling in front of her brother with a bouquet of flowers and wrote a very sweet message revealing that although it wasn’t Junaid’s first play or first shoot, it was his first day of shoot. She also added that her brother’s professionalism is unparalleled and that he refuses to tell her anything about the film.
The film is said to be a period drama based on the true story of Jadunathji Brijratanji Maharaj who was a religious leader. It depicts the story of the Maharaja’s libel case from 1862. Reports state that a huge set was built for the movie last month in Vijay Nagar in Marol. Also starring in the film are Sharvari Wagh, Shalini Pandey and Jaideep Ahlawat.
Junaid who has been in theatre for a while has even assisted Rajkumar Hirani in PK. Speaking about his son’s love for cinema, Aamir was earlier quoted stating, “Junaid wants to act and make films. I have warned him about the comparisons that will be made between him and me and that it would be tougher for him, but it’s up to him. He should lead his own life and make his own decisions. He is very bright so he should follow his own path.” - IANS
