Bollywood newcomer, Vicky Kaushal, who rose to fame after delivering a superb performance in films like "Raazi" and "Uri", is gearing up for his next, which is a biopic on Udham Singh.
This project is helmed by director Shoojit Sircar, who had earlier made films like "Piku", and "October". This biopic film narrates the life story of Sardar Udham Singh, who was a koli revolutionary belonging to the Ghadar Party. This film also sheds light upon how he assassinated Michael O’Dwyer, the Governor of Punjab at the time of the famous Jallianwala Bagh massacre. This project will be produced by The Rising Sun Films production and it has been penned by Shubendu Bhattacharya and Ritesh Shah. According to some reports, the lead actor in this movie was suppose to be Irrfan Khan but after the actor was diagnosed with cancer, Vicky was taken on board for this project.
“Sardar Udham Singh” is slated to release in 2020. The makers of the film have unveiled the first look poster.
