British Academy Film Award and Grammy award winner, Kate Winslet has teamed up with Irish actress Saoirse Ronan for a historical drama film "Ammonite". The makers of the movie have unveiled the first look.
This British-Australian romantic movie is helmed by Francis Lee and produced by Iain Canning, Fodhla Cronin O'Reilly, and Emile Sherman. The plot of the film revolves around a Palaeontologist by profession, named Mary Anning played by kate, who falls in love with a woman in the 1840's in England.
Francis Lee, rose to fame as a director, as his debut film "God's Own Country" , was the only UK film to be featured in the category of world drama at the Sundance Film Festival and it also won the World Cinema Directing Award. This film also won a BAFTA nomination for Outstanding British Film and a spot in the top 20 of Britain’s highest-grossing indie films of the year.
The filmmaker took to his Twitter account and shared the first look of "Ammonite” along with a tweet that says, "Here’s the 1st still of my new film Ammonite. Joining Kate Winslet and Saoirse Ronan are Fiona Shaw, James McCardle, Gemma Jones and one Alec Secareanu with cinematographer Stephane Fontaine. Thank you for all the incredible support".
The release date of "Ammonite" is yet to be revealed.
