‘Harry Potter And The Cursed Child’ Breaks Olivier Awards Nomination Record

‘Harry Potter And The Cursed Child’, a sequel to the books by JK Rowling, has been nominated for a record-breaking 11 Olivier Awards for its London West End production, from best actor to best costume and design.

The two-part stage play’s actors Jamie Parker, Noma Dumezweni and Anthony Boyle are all nominated for awards for their performances in the adaptation written by Jack Thorne.

The 11 nominations are for outstanding achievement in music, choreography, set design, acting, directing and is also up for Virgin Atlantic's Best New Play.

The show premiered July 30, 2016 after successful previews and is currently casting for a New York production, which is expected to open in spring 2018.

The Olivier Awards 2017 will be held in the evening of Sunday 9 April. The full nominations list is available at olivierawards.com.
