“Beer is made by men. Wine was made by God,” was rightly said by Martin Luther, and it’s what the newest and finest wine bistro in Delhi, The Wine Company, is all about.
Located at DLF Cyber Hub, TWC brings the unique concept of a wine shop within a restaurant setting. You can pick from more than 150 kinds of wines and others spirits, and pair it up with world class continental and European cuisine. The restaurant offers wines sourced from more than 35 countries, along with lavish spirits such as high-end vodkas and single malt whiskies, all sold at wholesale price.
The 250-seat restaurant is done up as an open street of the Hub. The vast menu includes food from across the globe – pizzas, pastas, steaks, hot dogs, burgers and more. Whether it’s their bagels, pancakes, appetizers like the grilled pesto mushrooms with pine nuts and goat cheese, broccoli in chilli lemon sauce, the bruschetta platter with whipped cheese, asparagus, olives, tomatoes and feta cheese, goat cheese with sun-dried tomatoes and balsamic reduction, they’re all must-try items.
For the main course, go with the filet mignon, the grilled tenderloin with mushroom sauce and crispy bacon, or the char-grilled tiger prawns rubbed with basil accompanied with mashed potatoes, daily vegetables, cherry tomatoes and garlic confit. Any meal is incomplete without the mouth-watering desserts like the triple-layer chocolate cake, the evergreen tiramisu, or the red velvet cake.
The restaurant has modern European café type of interiors with exposed brick work, chalkboards, Chesterfield sofas, wine-related paraphernalia, and oaken barrels. The outlet also has a 40-foot bar counter with wine chillers at every table. Wines being an integral part of the concept, TWC plans to give its guests an experiential dining experience with special wine tasting sessions featuring sommeliers. – Anahita
