Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone, along with 98 other women from India, has featured in a short film titled “My Choice” made dedicated to #VogueEmpower, Vogue India's social awareness initiative to voice equality for women in all spheres of life.
Produced by Dinesh Vijan and written by Kersi Khambatta, the black-and-white video sees the 29-year-old actress call for a change in the "caged" mindset of men about women through the monologue. She states "It is my choice to live life the way I want, to wear clothes I like, to decide how I want my body to be, when I want to get married or if I ever want to walk down the aisle, to decide if I want to be straight or a lesbian."
Apart from Deepika, other know faces in the film include actress Nimrat Kaur, film critic Anupama Chopra, fashion stylist Anaita Shroff Adajania, Bandana Tiwari, and hairstylist and business women Adhuna Akhtar. The film is produced by JSW and Sangita Jindal,
