Virat Kohli’s Gesture Wins Hearts Across The Globe

Virat Kohli’s class act at The Oval has won the hearts of millions across the globe on Sunday.

When Steve Smith was sent to the boundary to field, he received a couple of boos and chants of ‘cheater’ from the crowds at the stand. During this instance, Virat was batting and the minute he heard the chants, he walked up to the crowd and asked them to stop chanting and start clapping. This act of true sportsmanship has been appreciated by all and Smith even walked up to the skipper, shaking hands with him.

The Australian batsmen, Steve Smith and David Warner were banned for an entire year following their ball-tampering scandal in Cape Town last year. The batsmen who returned to the field for the Indian Premier League, were booed in their previous World Cup matches versus England and West Indies, respectively.

With this match, Virat Kohli has lead by example in terms of sportsmanship and made some clever decisions to hand India a comfortable victory over Australia. India beat Australia by 36 runs after posting a mammoth total of 152/5 with a century from Shikhar Dhawan and a brilliant knock of 82 runs from Virat Kohli.
