Vicky Kaushal will be seen in a film “Uri”, based on a significant event in the history of the Indian Military, directed by Aditya Dhar and produced by Ronnie Screwvala.
The movie sheds light on the Uri attack 2016, which was one of the most cold-blooded attacks killing 19 soldiers across the Pakistan border that took place in Uri region of Jammu and Kashmir. “Uri” revolves around the story of the Indian army’s surgical strike across (LoC) in Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK). Vicky Kaushal will be playing the role of commander-in-chief, who led the surgical strike and the paratroopers after the horrible attack.
Talking about the film, Vicky said “When this film came to me and we had this discussion. I was really thrilled and kicked about it because this is one story that I feel that everyone needs to know. One of the fantastic army operations that the Indian army has conducted and with great efficiency. I also feel it is a great opportunity and also a responsibility for all of us to portray this story”. He further added saying, “Really excited to get into this because I think this might just be one of the most toughest part that I have played till date, both physically and emotionally”.
The film will go on floors next year.
