Trailer Watch: ‘Captain America: Civil War’

The first trailer of the much-awaited Marvel movie “Captain America: Civil War” was released worldwide on YouTube Wednesday afternoon.

The two-and-a-half minute trailer shows Captain America forming his own miniature superhero squad, teaming up with new pal Falcon, and attempting to deprogram ex-Hydra agent Bucky "The Winter Soldier" Barnes.

Directed by the Russo Brothers, the film opens May 6. It’s some time after the events of “Avengers: Age of Ultron” and the world thinks superheroes need some kind of supervision. Iron Man agrees, Captain America does not, and that divides the heroes of the Marvel Cinematic Universe right down the middle.

Joining Evans and Downey Jr. in the film are Scarlett Johansson as Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow, Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson/Falcon, Paul Bettany as The Vision, Jeremy Renner as Clint Barton/Hawkeye, Don Cheadle as Jim Rhodes/War Machine and Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch, Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier alongside Chadwick Boseman as T’Challa/Black Panther, Emily VanCamp as Sharon Carter/Agent 13, Daniel Brühl as Baron Helmut Zemo, Frank Grillo as Brock Rumlow/Crossbones, William Hurt as General Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross, and Paul Rudd as Scott Lang/Ant-Man. The film will also debut Marvel’s new Spider-Man, played by Tom Holland.
