Summer is here and it is the perfect time to plan for a vacation in order to get away from the hot weather. In the excitement of planning a summer vacation, we often tend to forget about essential care for our skin and hair. During summer especially when we are travelling we need to take care of our skin and hair because due to the climate change our skin becomes tanned. Other skin and hair problems can cause discomfort during the trip.
Here are a few tips to maintain beautiful skin and hair during summer-
Cleanse and moisture-
Skin- harsh weather not only tans the skin but also causes the pores to get clogged due to sweating. When the skin pores get clogged the skin is prone to various skin ailments. Before exposing your skin to the dehydrating effect and dust, always clean your face before you step out.
Hair- People often choose to go to the beach or swimming pool to escape the heat. So before heading to a beach or a swimming pool, which by the way is the only place where the maximum chlorine is available, protect your hair by applying oil.
Wipe oily skin- while travelling your skin will tend to accumulate oil and dirt. Always carry wet tissues while you’re on vacation and constantly keep wiping your skin when needed. This will moisture the skin and keeps your look fresh throughout the day.
Protect hair from the sun- one of the essential things to carry while travelling is a summer hat. When the hair gets exposed to the harmful ultraviolet radiations it will damage the hair from the roots to the ends by making it dry and rough.
Mineral Sunscreen- apart from carrying a summer hat while travelling make sure to carry a sunscreen in your bag. To avoid further damage to the skin it is best to use mineral based sunscreens rather than a chemical based one. The harmful radiations from the sun cause hyper pigmentation, which does more damage to the skin, and can further lead to skin cancer. Sunscreen should be applied 30 minutes prior to sun exposure and reapply the same amount every 2 hours.
Avoid excess makeup- putting excess makeup especially during summer when we sweat a lot, will do more damage to the skin. Use water-proof makeup. However it is best to avoid putting makeup as much as possible.
Hydrate your skin and hair- the bright sun can make your skin dull and make you sweat more, so keep hydrating by drinking plenty of water. Water is one of the essential elements for maintaining a radiant skin and shiny hair.
