Team India Play New Zealand In Their First Warm-Up Match

The Indian Cricket team is all set to face New Zealand in their first practice match on Saturday. This practice match will be crucial to see how the Indian bowlers exploit the English weather conditions, which is one of the most important factors in the tournament.

India already have a great batting line-up with the experienced Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma for openers, the no.1 batsman in ODIs and test cricket, skipper Virat Kohli at no.3. While the spot for the fourth place is being contested by KL Rahul and Vijay Shankar, the in-form MS Dhoni will walk in at number 5. He is followed by 2 more power hitters, Kedhar Jadhav and the magnificent Hardik Pandya.

Jasprit Bumrah, the top-ranked ODI bowler leads the pace attack along with Mohammed Shami, Bhuvaneshwar Kumar and Hardik Pandya. Wrist spinners Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzhvendra Chahal are also crucial to the team.

Though this World Cup is touted to be one of the most challenging ones, Virat Kohli is confident of the team bringing back the glory for the third time after 1983 and 2011.

At the captain’s meet, Kane Williamson said, “It's been great to get together for the last few days. We've not played together for a couple of months but we're not the only ones in that boat. The guys are excited to be back in camp, which is really refreshing and we are looking forward to the challenges that we have got coming up.”

India will begin their campaign against South Africa on the 5th of June in Southampton and we are more than excited to see what the men in blue have in store for us!
