When one thinks of women in Saudi Arabia, the first image that comes to mind is veiled women in burkhas. While this might be true for many women there, it doesn’t stop them and others who don’t wear the burkha from lagging behind in their fashion.
A lot of the Saudi women are known for their incredibly over the top and bling-y fashion sense, and their love for brands. Being understated is not something Saudi women identify with and proudly so. Women spend a lot of time on beauty and fashion and spend hours to get the perfectly made up face. They are also very knowledgeable about fashion brands and what the last trends are.
One woman who is the perfect ambassador for Saudi women, not only for her beauty, grace and fashion sense, but also for her forward thinking views and modern thinking is Princess Ameerah al Taweel. She became a Princess upon her marriage to one of Saudi Arabia’s richest man, Alwaleed Bin Talal. At age 18 she met the Prince, a man 28 years her senior, while conducting an interview for a school paper.
