Rediscovering what ‘Beautiful’ means to people all over the world

After Esther Honig asked artists from 19 different countries to Photoshop her face to make her beautiful last June, a little later her colleague Priscilla Wilson released her own experiment on biracial beauty.

Marie Southard Ospina, inspired by efforts of these both women, decided to do a new test with her plus sized face. This associate fashion and beauty editor wanted to conduct this experiment with focus on relationship between weight and beauty.

The images are fascinating, but before that here is a summary of the results:

The results from only three countries (Ukraine, Latvia and Italy) made her face look visibly thinner.

Ospina was happy for most of the designers were in favour of preserving natural beauty. Iceland Photoshop expert took it a step higher by saying they will never edit/re-touch the natural look of a person.

The mission on ‘Body Confidence’ was a hit re-iterating that Beauty is a very hard word to define.

The positive results from people all over the world indicated that we are ready to see size diversity in media in our day to day lives.
