The brand , which has started off with only men’s ties back in 1981, is now pretty much famous for all its products—from men’s, women’s, and children’s apparel and footwear to fragrances, accessories, furniture, and dining. As the company expanded, so did the company’s portfolio of various brands. Polo Ralph Lauren, Denim & Supply, Club Monaco, American Living, Chaps, and Baby Ralph Lauren are just a few brands among many others under the company’s umbrella. The designs can be described as classy and approachable versions of current trends.
In 1972, Lauren released a short sleeve cotton shirt that was emblazoned with the official company logo of a polo player, in 24 colours. This design is the company’s signature design. Lauren’s latest 2016 fall collection is full of sophisticated and polished looks. It features an assortment of luxurious fabrics like cashmere knits, flannels, herringbones, and plaids, and it takes on more of a warm colour palette including browns and taupes. Though most of the designs were centred on giving off a tailored and smart look, some designs ventured out of the polished norm; his pleated velvet gown that gives off a 70’s vibe is one of them. “I wanted to go into this rock ‘n’ roll mood,” he said to a popular fashion website.

Ralph Lauren is a favourite among many celebrities and has even designed iconic movie outfits, such as Diane Keaton’s wardrobe for Annie Hall. Johnny Depp, David Beckham, and Katie Holmes are just a few of the various celebrities who have flaunted Ralph Lauren’s timeless designs on the red carpet.     – Sneha
