The young actress delivered an impressive speech about bullying. She said, "I want you to know how grateful I am to those that support me. It’s no secret that landing the role of Eleven in Stranger Things has changed my life in the most incredible ways. Since I know there are many young people watching this, and even to the adults too, they could probably use the reminder that I was taught – that if you don’t have anything nice to say, then don’t say it. There should be no space in this world for bullying, and I’m not going to tolerate it and neither should any of you. If you need a reminder of how worthy you are, and to rise above the hate, message me on Instagram".

Millie also deleted her Twitter account as homophobic memes, which targeted the actress by posting negative comments and beliefs about the LGBTQ community. The actress is a strong supporter of Gay and Lesbian Alliance. Millie remains quite active on her Instagram account.
