“Lipstick Under My Burkha” revolves around the life of four courageous women hailing from a small town in India, who fulfill their desires by indulging in secret pleasures, finally gets a release date. The film is directed by Alankrita Shrivastava and produced by Prakash Jha.
Ever since the first teaser has been released, the film was making headlines as the censor board was reluctant to release the film on the grounds of being “lady-oriented”, after a long battle the movie has been approved for release in India. “Lipstick Under My Burkha” features Konkona Sen Sharma, Ratna Pathak, Plabita Borthakur and Aahana Kumra in the lead roles.
The makers of “Lipstick Under My Burkha” released the poster of the film with a tagline that says “It takes balls to be a woman” and in the poster the middle finger symbolizes lipstick.
The movie is slated to release on July 21st, 2017.
