Leica continues to take the world by storm with their exceptional cameras and they haven’t disappointed with their newest release, the M10-P ‘ASC 100 Edition’ watch. This finely crafted device has been created in celebration of 100 years from the founding of the American Society of Cinematographers. It comes with a Leica Summicron-M 35 f/2 ASPH lens which opens up the door for a lot of experimenting with the professional tool. This is great for aspiring filmmakers or cinematographers. Also present is the Leica VISOFLEX electronic viewfinder, and a Leica M-PL-Mount Adapter, allowing the lucky owner the option to switch up with almost any PL mount cine lens out there.
The camera also comes with an app called Leica FOTOS, which can assist in location scouting and immediately sharing the results with the rest of the team, which makes communication that much faster. Among the many modes, the camera also features the ‘ASC Cine Classic’ mode which can be useful for a classic analogue 35 mm cine look film, as well as the ‘ASC Contemporary’ mode, which gives the picture or video the digital look seen in contemporary movies. The camera itself is a sleek black chrome accented with a gold-coloured lens, with the ASC logo present on the top plate. The camera also boasts of the ability to activate aspect ratios which are used in cinematography.
