We all mourned when the end of the hit HBO TV-series “Sex And The City”, then rejoiced when two movies soon followed. But when buzz started about the third movie, reports suggested that everyone was on board, but Kim Cattrall, who played the notorious Samantha Jones , inducing a statement from Sarah Jessica Parker confirming that there would be no third “Sex And The City” movie, saying “I’m disappointed. We had this beautiful, funny, heartbreaking, joyful, very relatable script.”
But recently, new drama has surfaced. Kim Cattrall has publicly spoken out about Parkers mean antics she faced during filming for the show and the movies. She talked about it earlier on the Piers Morgan talk show, but then she made a post on Instagram stating “I don’t need your support at this tragic time @sarahjessicaparker”. She wrote “Your continuous reaching out is a painful reminder of how cruel you really were then and now.” She then added, “Let me make this VERY clear. (If I haven’t already) You are not my family. You are not my friend. So I’m writing to tell you one last time to stop exploiting our tragedy in order to restore your ‘nice girl’ persona”. She then proceeded to attach a link to an article talking about how ‘mean girls’ culture destroyed the franchise.
She has also talked about Parker’s constant need to be seen as the ‘nice-girl’, always making Kim the villain in past spats. We now know that although their friendship was not how it seemed on-screen, Kim is still true to her role as bold and up-front Samantha off-screen as well.
