t's been two days since Kendall Jenner unexpectedly deleted her Instagram account and now she's explaining why.
"I just wanted to detox," the 21-year-old beauty revealed to Ellen DeGeneres. "I just wanted a little bit of a break. I’m always on it… I would wake up in the morning and I would look at it first thing, I would go to bed and it was the last thing I would look at. I felt a little too dependent on it, so I kinda wanted to take a minute to detox.”
"I'll be back, I'll come back!" she says. "Withdrawals are starting to come in." But she was was stunned when she realised her decision had become global news around the world.
"It's so crazy how it became huge news like that. I mean I guess I didn't expect it," said Jenner, who revealed that she also removed the Twitter app from her phone. (Her Twitter account still remains active, however.) "I honestly didn't think anyone would care. My friends and family kept texting me, like how does everyone know? They started sending me links to, like, CNN. And I was like, 'Why is this even a big deal?' "
Still, the ‘Keeping Up With the Kardashians’ star recommends that everyone take a similar break.
"It's kind of a nice, refreshing feeling," she shares. "I'm away from my phone so much more. You start to engage in, like, real life, and you have to deal with real people right in front of you, so it's kind of really nice to be away from it, even if it's just Instagram."
