Frieda Pinto, who was born and brought up in Mumbai, first tasted success in Hollywood with Slumdog Millionaire; for which she also won the Breakthrough Performance Award at Palm Springs International Awards. After this, she appeared in movies like, You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger, Immortals, Trishna and Desert Dancer. Although these movies did not do well commercially, her role in them always got her mixed to positive appreciations.
Persis Khambata was the second winner of Femina Miss India and the third Indian woman to participate in the Miss Universe pageant. She started her career in Hollywood with the role that brought her huge recognition – the bald Deltan navigator, Lieutenant Ilia in Star Trek: The Motion Picture. She also became the first Indian to present an award at the Academy Awards in 1980. Nighthawks, Megaforce, and Warrior of the Lost World, followed later.
Kunal Nayyar is mostly known for his role Rajesh Koothrappalli, the Indian scientist in the CBS Sitcom Big Bang Theory. He was born to a Punjabi family in London and did his schooling in Delhi. He has co-hosted Tribute to Nerds with co-star Simon Helberg. He also appeared in The Scribbler, Dr Cabbie, and voiced Gupta in Ice Age: Continental Draft.
