Gucci will be participating in the House Style: Five Centuries of Fashion exhibition from March 25 to October 22, 2017 at the iconic Chatsworth palace that will explore the history of fashion and adornment.
Chatsworth is a member of the Treasure Houses of England, ten of the most magnificent palaces, stately homes and castles in England. The Chatsworth House Trust is dedicated to the preservation of Chatsworth House, the art collection, garden, woodlands and park for the long-term benefit of the public. The charity promotes the study and appreciation of Chatsworth as a place of historic, architectural and artistic interest and of natural beauty, and encourages the use and enjoyment of Chatsworth by visitors for education and recreation.
The House Style: Five Centuries of Fashion exhibition will be curated by Hamish Bowles, International Editor-at-Large at American Vogue, with the creative direction of Patrick Kinmonth and Antonio Monfreda, the duo behind some of the most memorable fashion exhibitions of recent years.
Highlights of the exhibition will include Couture as well as influential contemporary garments featuring Gucci as one of the Designers. The show will also feature personal family collections, including items belonging to the current Duke and Duchess of Devonshire. These pieces will be displayed alongside livery, uniforms, coronation robes and fancy-dress costumes, demonstrating the varying breadth of fashion and adornment from Collections throughout the generations.
